The Sasser worm growing at an incredible rate in 2006. These days, running Windows Update
is a no brainer.
Also another reason to protect yourself from worms and viruses is buying a $20+
hardware
firewall. This hardware can be the difference between being able to get on the
internet with your high speed access (DSL or Cable Modem).
If you are using a dialup line, then using a software firewall is the next best
thing. Windows XP SP2 comes with a software firewall installed, as does
Vista.
Also having virus protection these days is a must. There are all type of virus
protection software (including free!). I will discuss the current software and
provide links to where you can get these items.
Staying safe is the game.
